Cat in the Hat!

My kids NEEDED to get outside and play today, but the weather tells us otherwise. So, with a fire in the fireplace, we were adoring pictures from old preschool scrapbooks and came across a picture of Griffin on Read Across America Day - he was painted and wearing a hat so he looked like Cat in the Hat.

Camden thought this was the funniest of all the pictures, and begged to paint himself. So, now there are three cats purring and crawling around our house, and we've found something to keep us entertained!

Happy New Year!

Amazing isn't it?
What's amazing, you ask?
I think it's truly AMAZING that i remember how to even log in to this thing i call a blog! I
haven't been here since September! -------3 1/2 months ago --------!
I don't make new year's resolutions, but if i were to make one, i'd say working on the blog would be important to me :-)

At the least, i'm going to put pictures of all the things i bake and cook and create this year, because i am hopeful that this will at least, if nothing else, be a creative year for me!

So here is post number 1 for 2011:
We focused our Christmas gift efforts on Griffin and Molly's classroom teachers this year. Usually i do a little something for their favorites - PE teacher, math teacher and ALWAYS something for the principal. But, not this year. I did NOTHING. How tacky is that? I did the 12 days of Christmas for their 3 lead teachers, and for 12 days sent each one of them something special, and i hope, sincere. But that was it for my gift giving this year. So, i resolved that we would send a small something to all the sweet staff up there that love my children one or two times each week when they see them, and make sure they know they are special to the McCreary's as well.

It's still a work in progress - not being delivered until Thurday when i don't have to work. I will post the final product tomorrow night when i "pretty them up." But, in the meantime, here's a little preview. I found a recipe over the holidays that i just said, "Yummmmmm!" and i also said "EASSSSSSSY!" when i read it. So this is what we're creating, because seriously, who doesn't love something yummy to eat?
I hope they enjoy the little tidbit they will receive from my kids. I know i enjoyed making it!
