There's a New Gal In Town!

Molly has a dear friend that recently donated her hair to Locks of Love. Molly loved her fresh new-do so much, that she couldn't wait until summer to get herself a fresh new hairdo. I love Molly's hair long, but quite honestly, it was too long. So, chop it off! She cut at least 5 inches today. . . smiling the WHOLE time! She was so excited! We'll see how it holds up these next few weeks. For the first time EVER it is all one length instead of many layers, AND it's shorter than it's been in a long time! But, what's important is that she loves it! See for yourself:
Here's the during . . .check out the length. Too bad it curls so much, it hardly looked this long when dry!

Don't be fooled, this straight hair is fresh from the salon with lots of tugging with a paddle brush! It won't last long. If you go back to the face close-up, you can see as we were leaving the salon, there were already curls forming around her face! With it this short, i even saw some ringlets (Which i haven't seen in YEARS) after her bath tonight!

So Thankful!

Griffin has been trying his best to grow his hair out to a long "shag" type of cut that is so popular. If you know Griffin, you know he has one of the largest heads imaginable for a child (was born in the 90th percentile and has always stayed there). When he was 3 years old and begged for a cowboy hat, none of the "toy" hats fit and we had to spend 30bucks at the horse and tack store for a hat that would fit. And, to add fury to the fire, he has VERY thick, GOOD hair. However, thick/good hair isn't always the best for every style.
Anyhow, he's been very patient (as have I) in letting his hair get longer and longer. It was so bushy, Jeff scheduled an appointment to let our dear friend Tina, the magic hair stylist, work some of her magic to make it look, at the least, a little better. On the way out the door Griffin announced he was cutting it short! You say, "Big Deal!" Well, this is a HUGE deal as every time we have mentioned a hair cut, he has pleaded not to go, pleaded to let him grow it out, no way was he even going to trim it.
And here we are, the day before Thanksgiving, the week before our big Disney trip (where i'm sure no fewer than a thousand pictures will be taken) and just before the holidays, and low and behold, he is cutting it SHORT!!! SHORT I SAY!! Can you hear me??? SO THANKFUL! I love my Gip with short hair! I did not encourage this. In fact, i think i DIScouraged it just a little because he was halfway to long, and it's never fun to start over. I fear he will just want to start over! He did this all on his own. Now, Jeff drove him to the hair appointment, so perhaps there are secret money exchanges i will never know about; for example, "Hey Grif, if you cut your hair short, i will give you a 20 dollar bill, but you can't tell mom!" But, i'm hoping that's not the case. I do in fact, strongly support bribery of children, when necessary, but this wasn't necessary. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't too bad. Anyhow, he did it, here's the proof. . .
A few "in process" pictures!
I think i even see a little bit of a grin on his face as those clippers work. It looks like shearing a sheep there is so much coming off!
Almost done . . .

And here's the final product. . . That's my boy! I think it looks drastically short, simply because it started out so long! (And side note. . . i think that is my least favorite shirt ever). But, i love my Grif! He's cute long haired or short! And has a great personality and sense of sarcasm (that i really appreciate)!

First Haircut!

This post should have been made over a month ago, but i never posted it, and these pictures are too good not to share! Camden went for his first haircut in late May or early June. His hair was soooo long and curly; but when he would sleep, it would just get fuzzy!
Hanging waaaay past the ears:

This is what it looked like after rubbing the blankets and sheets while sleeping:

During the cut with Ms. Tina: (It's amazing how still a little boy will sit if given a HUGE lollipop to eat while getting his haircut):

This is the back after the cut - MUCH better:

This is the HAPPY face after the cut! Not sure if he was more excited about his new cut or the lollipop?

It was hard for me to face the first haircut of the last baby in the McCreary house. But i admit now that it's over, he really does look better and cuter with a little shorter hair!
